Traditional or contemporary, this style is ideal for properties with limited
space under the eaves or an awkward area in which to fit a conservatory.
The
elegant Victorian conservatory >>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>
The
most popular style, with versatility that makes it suitable for many house
types. Its distinguishing architectural features give it an attractive
curved appearance. This together with a steeply pitched roof and ornate
ridge details create a truly classical effect.
The
Edwardian PVC conservatory >>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>

fronted style which offers excellent floor space due to its square or
rectangular internal shape creating an elegant, simple and uncluttered

contemporary effect that is suited to the majority of property types and
styles.
The

Design and Construction Choices
The
following briefly outlines some of the options you may wish to consider to
get the most out of your planned development:
Planning applications
|
An
important first step, we will always provide advice to customers and
can provide a planning application service.
For more details see
|
Conservatory Base Options
|
Conservatory bases
are made in a similar way to the flooring in your home ensuring a
sturdy waterproof base to your new extension.
Some things to
consider:
·
Brick or Render
finish?
·
Size and layout? A
crucial decision. |
Conservatory window and door configurations
|
Basic designs are
seen above, however it’s important to consider:
·
Types of openings, typically we supply top opening fanlights but do you
need something different
·
Location of doors, should these be French doors as standard or perhaps
sliding patio doors |
|
Glazing options
|
As standard we
supply all of our windows and doors with thermally efficient ‘K’
glass, often with bevels and sometimes argon gas filled for
additional thermal properties.
|
Roofing designs
|
We
manufacture our own roofs using Synseals’ Global
Aluminium roofing
range
A major decision
when choosing your roof with the majority of our customers choosing
either a Self Cleaning Pilkington Active Blue Glass or a low cost
Polycarbonate design.
For
information on the types of glass are able to supply see (However
this does depend on availability from our suppliers) |
Finishing features
|
There are a number
of final touches to be considered towards the completion of the
conservatory, examples of these include;
Types of window sill
to use for the internal dwarf wall, there are Plastic, Veneered ‘K’
Board (Chipboard with a white or wood finish) or for more refinement
there are many different types of hardwood finished available for
consideration.
Type of floor
finish.. Although we don’t lay the conservatory floorings ourselves,
this must be considered when laying the concrete screed finish.
Internal wall
finish, should this be a standard plaster finish or do you want to
keep the existing brick or stone work as a feature. |
Electrical and Other Furnishings
|
A vital feature
often overlooked when deciding on a conservatory. Plan early on
where things will go as the wiring sits within the cavity walls.
Distinction Windows
typically provide a standard set of 4 double sockets, a fan with
lighting and arrange for a NICEIC approved electrician to connect
this to your house mains.
If you decide you
want a TV, phone line, under floor heating, different lighting, your
own colour schemes this is all possible. |
